Mission Statement

Mission Statement: Compassion Wyoming relies on the Christian principles of mercy and redemption to help facilitate the release and reentry of repentant offenders. We believe the following: that no human being is beyond redemption or rehabilitation; that successful reentry is possible for long-term offenders; that changes in laws and policies can ease the inflating burden of prison over population. We hope to influence public perspectives using a variety of tools, including historical data that demonstrates the realistic potential for successful prisoner reentry.

The reason Compassion Wyoming was founded:   There are over 400 lobbyists registered in Cheyenne.  The ranchers have the Wyoming Stock Growers and Cattle Growers Associations, the Oil men have the Petroleum Association, the teachers have the Wyoming Education Association.   Compassion Wyoming was founded to give inmates somebody to do research, to reach out to the elected officials, the media, and the public, to educate them, to be the voice for a incarcerated.

We are a non-profit advocating for an exit strategy for reformed Wyoming long-term offenders.
